Incised carving repeated on curved arms attached to lower back & seat. Hand caned seat. Lathe turned front legs & rungs. Size: H-36 1/2 Seat depth-18 x W-18 1/2 inches. History of Object: Cottage chair that originally belonged to Zaruha Browning, of Grand Street (between Santa Clara & Lincoln Avenue). It was subsequently owned by her daughter, Ella B. Dexter (Mrs. Herman F.), mother of the donor's husband, Philip Dexter. Acquired from: Sophia Dexter Walsted Date: 8-25-1994
