Description: Cast-iron manual seal with raised handle mounted on an oval shaped base; the actual stamp part of the seal is a circular shaped disk.
Size: Height: 10 inches.
History of Object: A seal that impresses the legend "Justice Court Alameda County City of Alameda" as well as the Alameda municipal emblem of the seated goddess. It was used at the Justice of the Peace Court and was given to Judge George E. McDonald upon his retirement. Judge McDonald was a longtime Alameda magistrate. This seal was used before the statewide consolidation of the municipal court system with the county superior courts.
