Size folder: L 14 3/4” X W 9” History of Object: Documents found in the attic of City Hall, prior to renovations. These documents were originally held together with a metal clip in a folder (discarded in 2011) with a green label on the tab stating: “Bridges - Fruitvale Ave 1944-1949”. Documents pertain to the decision to have a single-track railway bridge, and a separate four-lane highway bridge. Includes 1944 correspondence from the War Department; 1946 complaints about the state of the bridge and noise; a 1946 Report on Fruitvale Avenue Bridge Traffic, 1947 report on the proposed Second Bay Crossing, and different 1949 Maps / profiles, including pavement plans for Pearl and Blanding.
