History of Object: Documents found in the attic of City Hall. Documents in this folder include meeting reminders (1917-1919) from the Secretary of the Board of Public Utilities, on stationery of the Municipal Electric Light Plant, 2407 Santa Clara, to City Manager Charles E. Hewes. Also a 1919 List of Salaries and wages. Note of thanks for installation of an electrolier; some questions from other cities; contract from Powel Brothers to sell land incl. for an Electric Light Plant; notices from the State Railroad Commission to limit lighting, to save electricity for industries needed for the war effort, and cancellation of that order on Oct. 7, 1918. Oldest document reflects lighting of bridges provided and paid for by the city (1911).
