History of Object: Personal volume of the "Pilots Powerplant Manual," owned by Castor Nielsen, employee of the Naval Air Station Textbooks used in civilian training classes for air mechanics for Naval Air Station in 1942-43. Castor Nielsen was coordinator with the Base and school. A long time resident of Alameda, he was hired as an air mechanic in April 1.941ed and retired as a personnel supervisor in January 1959.
