Description: Leather wallet-style envelope fortified with cardboard, with medical tools - scissors, tweezers, a needle with blunt end, two different sized scalpels and a hooked tool, the last 3 imprinted with the brand 'FARNY'.

History of Object: Medical kit likely previously owned by Frederic William Nachbar, who served in the Spanish-American War, with tools supplied to the military by the FARNY company - Ferdinand Alfred Reichardt - New York - who designed and patented surgical equipment in the late 19th and early 20th century (Reichardt died 1913).
