Acc. No. 95.94.1 Subject Category: Businesses (Pharmacy) Date or Period: C - 1890's early 1900's Object: Bottle. Description: Aqua colored glass bottle double seamed with applied spout. Base of the bottle has embossed lettering in block letters "DR. S.B.d. & Co. PRO”. In center #4. The glass is crudely made with several entrapped bubbles. Affixed to side of bottle is the original paper label with black and gold type on an off-white colored background. Label states F. Binder in bold black type. Size: H - 9 inches. History of Object: Medicinal bottle from F. Binder Pharmacist, Southwest corner Park St., and Central Ave. Bottle found in the home of Judge Dan Knox, 2524 Central Ave., late husband of Vera George Knox. Mrs. George married Knox in 1954. He was a member of a family who lived in Alameda prior to 1900. Mr. Knox graduated from Alameda High School. His former wife the late Helen Knox died in 1953. Vera's first husband H. Albert George, who served as City Attorney and Municipal Judge, came to Alameda in 1922 from Seattle, WA. Acquired from: Vera George Knox Date: 5-13-1995
