N. Webster." Size: L-9 x W-64 inches. History of Object: Real estate sign of J. N. Webster, who in 1854 built the earliest surviving house in Alameda, at 1238 Versailles Avenue, and was a pioneer resident of the East End. He died in 1892. The sign was found under the house.
