Summer front in cast iron frame with woven basket weave pattern. Raised central motif of stag, doe, and fawn. Single button grip for removing from fireplace opening.
Size: L - 27 x W - 17 3/4 inches.
History of object: Summer front from the fireplace of 2159 Clinton Ave., erected 1902, F. Marcuse builder. Residence still standing. The summer front was in the backyard of Mr. McGeorge's home for many years. Mr. McGeorge had received the summer front from his brother who purchased and re-modeled the Clinton Ave. home.
