Description: Immitation black leather covered letter file with caption on upper part of cover in incised letters in gold "Valuable Papers," and in lower section of cover (gold) "Compliments C. C. Adams, real estate and insurance, 2326 Santa Clara Ave., Alameda, Calif, Phone Alameda 2482". Interior of file is lined with black material and contains 8 separate tan colored envelopes with individual headings such as "Valuable Papers", Business Memoranda and Clippings, etc. The envelopes are held into place by a black string which acts as the binding.
Size: 10 3/4x5 inches.
History of Object: Advertising letter file, C. C. Adams Real Estate and Insurance, circa 1920's. Adams was the developer of the Fernside District, in the late 1920's. This file came from the estate of Leland Meuter, father of the donor, who was raised in Alameda.
