Subject Category: City Hall Date or Period: C. late 1920's or early 1930's Object: Fixture, light (pair) Description: Eight sided light fixture consisting of decorative panels (pot metal), separated by wrought iron branches, which create a cage-like effect housing a circular glass (white) globe. A circular canopy has four applied metal leaves from which is attached the support chain of oblong shaped links. The same style of leaves are repeated on the upper portion of the fixture. The finish and iron support brackets are not original. History of Object: Pair of light fixtures that hung in the Alameda City Hall. Found in the storage attic of the building, identical fixtures illuminate the basement halls. Acquired from: City of Alameda Date: 14-9-1991
