DESCRIPTION:
Engine (A): Has eight wheels; cast in two pieces; kept together with iron pins. Has original paint of black and red. Coal
Car (B): Has eight wheels; cast in two parts and has original black paint accentuated with gold stripes; has raised numbers of 917.
Passenger Car (C): Has three wheels (originally eight); has original colors of blue and red; car is numbered 1192 and says "New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington".
Tanker (D): On six wheels, Cast in two parts and at the end of the tank 1889 is painted on it (could possibly be the date of manufacture or the car number. Has the original paint; possibly orange.
Caboose (E): On four wheels, Cast in two pieces; held together with bolts. Has the original orange-red paint.
HISTORY OF OBJECT: Cast iron toy originally played with by Samuel S. Haslett, Jr., born in Alameda 1888; brother of donor.
