History: Brief history of the Lona Hazzard Private School that was located at 1724 Santa Clara Avenue which appeared in a book entitled, “California and Californians”, edited by Rockwell D. Hunt and printed in the late-1920s. The Hazzard School, a day and boarding school for boys and girls, kindergarten through junior high, was located for several years in the present Girls' Club building at 1724 Santa Clara Avenue.
