Description: Embossed Pierce Hardware Company. The head of the hitching post is a clinched fist which incorporates two loops, which in turn houses two loops for reins of horses. It is a black cast iron post. The hand is a separate unit, mounted onto the cast iron post.
Size: It is 37 inches in length.
History of Object: This hitching post was located at the corner of Van Buren and Court Street, in Alameda, from 1864 to 1891, at the old Wilson School,
