DESCRIPTION: Natural finish redwood, crudely constructed. Has a brass plaque with inscription "Barracks 635, Veterans World War I, U.S.A.". Above plaque is an applied wooden emblem, hand painted, which states Veterans of World War I. Easel folds and has three legs.
Size: 61" high.

Note: The Veterans of World War I of the USA, Inc. was organized in 1948. In 1989, when it hosted the Veteran's Day remembrance at Arlington National Cemetery, there were some 100,000 WWI veterans remaining, whose average age was 94. The organization's executive office at Arlington, VA closed c. 2008, and the US Dept. of Veteran's Affairs acts as the administrator of this organization.
The Alameda group, Barracks #635, ceased to exist in the 1970's.
