No. 24.6.1 Subject Category: Beaches, Sunny Cove Baths Date or Period: early 1900s Object: postcard Description: a postcard, uncirculated, of a hand-colored black-and-white photo, title in red in a white strip at the bottom: '922 Entrance to Sunny Cove Baths'. Visible is an unpaved street, with tracks running through and a steam train, one open car, and a flag pole with attached U-shaped sign stating 'Sunny Cove Baths' and a cluster of people underneath. Behind this is one three-story building with an awning and people crossing the street to the train. Verso states it was published by Cardinell-Vincent Co., printed in Germany. Size: L 5 1/2" x W 3 1/2" History of Objects: Sunny Cove Baths was founded in 1881 by the Dietz sisters. After their deaths, it was inherited by their nephew George Masters and his wife.
