Acc. # 01.26.1 (A-E) Subject Category: Citizens of Alameda Date: Circa 1890's Object: Billfold, calling cards Description: Folding billfold of brown colored leather. The interior is compartmentalized. The interior flap has incised gold inscription of W. H. Kruger. The billfold includes four handwritten calling cards, in sepia colored ink, with the name of W. H. Kruger. L 3 3/4" W 6 1/2" History: The billfold and calling cards belonged to W. H. Kruger who had a logging company in Truckee, Ca. He was a resident of Alameda and had a large home at the southwest corner of Grand and Lincoln, now demolished. Mr. Krueger was the father of Gisella, who married Oliver Haslett, the original owner of the high-wheeled "Ordinary Bicycle" in the museum collection. Donor: Unknown Date: February 10, 2001
