Description: Circular nickel plated badge which serves as a frame for inset plastic covered photograph. The frame, with incised black lettering, states Bethlehem Alameda Shipyard Inc., Alameda, CA. On reverse side of badge is a plastic covered panel with signature and thumb print of employee.
The badge has a safety clasp and is engraved with the name of Patrick and M. K. Co., San Francisco.
Size: 2 inch diameter.
History of Object:
Employee badge for the Bethlehem Shipyard was assigned to Yip Gim Koon whose photo is on front of badge, showing his height of 5'9" and the #31-178 at bottom of photo. Nothing is known about the gentleman on the badge. The badge was found by the donor who is an employee of the San Francisco Garbage Company.
