DESCRIPTION: Black wool serge. Has silk faille buttons. It appears to be a coat from 1906 to 1910. There are ten silk faille buttons down the front and the buttons are repeated on the pockets. There are cuffs at the sleeve. Coat was actually worn in Alameda.
HISTORY OF OBJECT: Walking coat of Fredika E., wife of Walter A. Cundali. Mr. and Mrs. Cundall came to Alameda about 1904 from Kansas City, Missouri. They had a house built on Laurel Street which was completed in 1905 (847 Laurel). Mr. Cundall was a travelling salesman. Also, Delancy and Randlett were the builders at their home on Laurel. Family still occupies the house.
