History of Object: Collection of cards relating to the marriage of Ethel Oberg and Gustaf Ekberg, August 30, 1937. Some of these may have been part of a scrapbook, judging by glue remnants. A, c. 1936, B, C, 1937, D, E, 1938, F, 1946. This collection was found in the warehouse in 2021 and was cataloged retro-actively.
Details:
A: Card on wavy tan patterned paper with a cut-out circle set of with silver foil showing an image of a box with ring with applied diamond-cut glass or rhinestone, and cherubs holding a banner 'On Your Engagement'. Sender on inside identified as 'Hazel'. Rust Craft, Boston, U.S.A.
Glue traces on back. Size: L 4" x W 5 1/2"
B. Card with caption 'Wedding Congratulations', divided in four sections, with designs cut out and backed with gold foil and lace. The four sections have captions: 'Something Old' (a wedding dress), 'Something New' (flowers), 'Someting Borrowed' (Money to Loan), and 'Something Blue' (a enchanting but caricatured image of an African American Jazz player. Sender: Lueiaella [?]. Holland, U.S.A.

C. Card white flowers and silver leaves on a baby-blue background, further decorated with a white ribbon and a glued-on shape of a coffeepot of tin foil, caption 'Something For Your Kitchen'. Sender 'Fritz and Helen'. A Silverette Greeting - A Hallmark Card, Hall Brothers, Inc.

D. Envelope and Card with image of two black birds wearing hats, one with an attached flower, in front of a red colored house on a branch. Caption 'On Your Anniversary'. Sender "The Martin's", handwritten message '8/30/38 First Anniversary'. No manufacturer. Size: L 5 1/4" x W 4"
E. Card with pastel flowers outlined in silver, top right corner folded over and secured in place with a baby-blue bow, and small image of a couple in 18th century dress (a woman in full hoop skirt and bonnet and man in caped coat and top hat). Caption 'Your First Anniversary Point to Happy Years Ahead! Message: 'Love, Toots'. Added date in black marker: '8/30/38'. Manufacturer: 'Designed by Davis'. Size: L 5" x W 4"
F. Envelope addressed to: 'Gustaf and Ethen on their 9- wedding annyversery', and card with bouquet of pink and purple flowers decorated with printed pink and silver foil ribbons, Caption 'For Your Anniversary. Signed 'From Mother and Dad'.
