Description: Enlarged black & white photograph in gesso & gilt finished frame (with glass).
Size: L-19 x W-14 1/2 inches.
History of Object: Framed photograph of Gladys Petry (Mrs. Herman J. Kihn) as a child. Gladys was born in 1900 (Golden Gate section of Oakland), and came to Alameda in 1901. In 1902 she participated in the Water Carnival, an event celebrating the opening of the Oakland-Alameda Estuary. In 1921 she married the late Herman "Dode" Kihn (whose family had come to Alameda in 1907), longtime employee of the Southern Pacific Company.
