No. 24.30.10 Subject Category: Alameda Hospital Date or Period: c. 1930s Object: Folder Description: folder of olive-green card stock, with two pockets for papers inside, with on the cover a monochromatic pink photo of a building overlooking a body of water, with in pink type: 'To Welcome You, Our Guest / To Alameda Hospital', under the photo: 2070 Clinton Avenue, Alameda California. In pencil at the top: Mr. Anderson 230-C. Inside pockets have staples and remnant of a paper. Size: L 11 3/4" x W 9 1/2" History of Object: Folder presented by the Alameda Hospital to patients, the image dates from before the 1959 landfill and expansion of the Hospital. It was likely presented to the father of the donor, reason for the visit unknown, date unknown. A copy of this photo is cataloged as 86.68.21, giving the year as late 1920s; the hospital remained essentially unchanged until the expansion after the South Shore landfill in 1959.
