Size: L 10 1/2" x W 8 1/2" History of Object: Book with photos and biographies of rescue dogs in Alameda, created as a fundraiser for 3 dog rescue organizations, Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter (FAAS), Muttville Senior Dog Rescue (San Francisco) and East Bay Society for the Prevention of Animal Cruelty, (SPCA), Oakland. FAAS in Alameda was founded in 2009 by a small group of volunteers dedicated to raising funds for the medical care for the animals at the Alameda Animal Shelter. In 2011, the volunteer group expanded to launch a “Save Our Shelter” campaign when city budget cuts were forcing the closure of the shelter.
