No. 90.12.84 Subject Category: Furniture Date or Period: C. late 1890's Chiect: Chair, arm Description: Reception or "fancy" arm chair of maple with original tapestry (floral art nouveau pattern) upholstery. Pseudo late-Victorian reproduction based on Colonial Windsor style chairs. The design of the chair features an ornate scroll-cut back splat flanked by plain spindles. The upholstered top rail & circular pad seat are attached by original round head brass tacks. Size: W-21, H-36, seat depth 17 inches. History of Object: Reception chair from the residence of Neil & Maude Macdonald, 2066 San Jose Avenue, old-time residents of the city. Acquired from: Museum Acquisition Fund Date: 2-10-1990
