Description: Set of 100% linen café curtains made up of four panels with embroidered edging. Arts and Crafts style in Natural linen color with embroidered drawn threadwork border in triangular pattern 1 ½” wide in muted color sequence of black, orange, blue, yellow, green. Each panel contains one embroidered corner with an orange and black circular motif 1 ¼” x 1 ¼”. Panel A: 75” tall x 28” wide with border along left side and hem. Panel B: 75” tall x 40” wide with embroidered border along left side and bottom hem. Panel C: 75” tall x 40” wide with embroidered border along right side and bottom hem. Panel D: 75” tall x 28” wide with border along right side and hem.
History of Object: Curtains were found in a box with a shipping label from 'Capwell's glued to a section of cardboard, addressed to Miss Ethel Oberg: 3333 Fernside Blvd, Alameda, CA 1353-104 A. Ethel married Gustaf Ekberg in 1937, possibly these were part of the appointments for their home.
