Documents originally were found in the 1990s in the attic of City Hall, in a folder, discarded in 2011, with a green label on the tab stating: “DEPARTMENTS- Fire: 1952-1956"
Documents include correspondence between, from, or about the Fire Department under Chief Thomas Lane, and City Manager Carl Froerer, including investigations for fire hazards (weeds, fire hydrants), leaves of absence; painting of the Fire Station, personnel issues, Fire Alarm systems; conferences; a case of sabotage with sugar of one of the fire trucks (July 27, 1954); Arson investigation training; disposal (sale) of obsolete material, etc.
