Description: A capelet of black-colored silk faille with a stand-up collar The inside is lined with a black-colored fabric, possibly sateen. Beginning at the neck and extending to the hem, the garment is secured with hook and eyes. The front and back are decorated with black-colored jet beads in a floral motif. Below the shoulders where the sleeves would normally be, are decorations with rows of fringe composed of black jet glass. The garment appears to be partially hand-sewn.
History of Object: This garment belonged to Maude Fenn (1876-1949).
