Object: Scarf or head cover Description: Head cover consisting of a white cotton band or bill with applique patch (red cross emblem) and deep navy blue colored material (crepe) veiling. Attached to the scarf is an enameled pin (sterling) with the Red Cross insignia and wording "Volunteer-American Red Cross." History of Object: This head cover and attached pin were worn by Honor Bailey Waites during volunteer war time services for the Alameda Branch of the American Red Cross.
