No. 21.52.7 Subject Category: Household, toys Date or Period: ca. 1955 Object: Toy Description: a wooden pull toy, featuring a cut-out shape with applied two-sided decal of a teddy bear with red jacket and blue shorts, mounted on an undercarriage with blue wheels, blue base, red edges, and sides with another decal applied. front has a small staple and remnants of a red ribbon; bear has arms, with decals, and extended with mounted springs with wooden ends, on a metal mechanism attached to the wheels, which make the arms go up and down, and make the ends connect to three metal strips forming a xylophone. Because of the springs, when the toy is pulled over uneavenness, different notes of the xylophone will be hit. Decals state 'Fisher Price Toys', 'Tiny Teddy', and Fisher-Price Toys Inc., East Aurora, N.Y.', and 'Made in U.S.A.' Has modern shoelace attached to replace original string.
