Description: Black/white photo accentuated with charcoal embellishments. It is framed by an oval-shaped off-white colored mat. The photo is in its original ebonized wooden frame. This frame has an interliner of antique gold gesso. All four corners of the frame have applied embossed brass trim which appears to have been gold plated. Photographer unknown.
Size: L-27 x W-23 1/2 inches.
History of Object: A framed photo of the late Walter T. Steinmetz, former Fire Chief of the City of Alameda. His family were longtime residents of Alameda, their home being on Laurel Street. This object has been in the museum collection since the 1950's; however it was never cataloged.
