History of Object: Nice full-length portrait of Miss Carrie J. Pratt (later Mrs. Frank D. Elwell), in a long white gown with matching hat. She was Assistant Librarian at the time. She was instrumental in obtaining from Andrew Carnegie the funds needed to construct the present library building, groundbreaking for which occurred in 1906.
