Description: sepia tinted photograph, mounted (glued) on backing paper, showing a horse-drawn four-wheeled wagon 2 men, standing in front of an open-front building, advertising Candy and Cigars, and Sausage & Pigs-Feet a Speciality, with another two men standing in front of it. The wagon has 'Groceries' on the side. To the left of the open-front building is a small one-story building stating 'All kinds of Floral Wor[k] done to order' and 'Encinal Nursery Depot; to the left of that is a building with arch with text: "Chief's Family Dining Rooms'.

History of Object: Photo of the G. Schaeffer grocery shop, corner Park and Central, 1407 Park Street. The business was built by carpenter G. Schaeffer for his sons, Albert and Gus Schaeffer, and was in operation from 1890 to 1953, the last years run by a son-in-law, Emil Ehlers.
