History of Object: Map of City of Alameda, 1920. Unknown origin, purchased from Erikson Maps on 12.21.89. The map shows city streets as updated to circa 1920 with some streets now renamed, others disappeared or never built (e.g. Leland Street?). Map shows the location of the Red Train (Pacific Coast Railroad) stations, the narrow gauge railroad, as well as various buildings and businesses, including the Bay Shore Club, Encinal Yacht Club, Alaska Packers Docks, Barnes & Tibbits, Aviation field, Clarks & Son Pottery, etc. Also shows a proposed municipal railroad which was not built.
