History of Object: Abram Rich and his carriage, 1620 4th Street, Alameda.
Mr. Rich was an early pioneer of the West End of Alameda. He purchased land from W. W. Chipman in 1866, and circa 1868, constructed his home, 1620 4th Street. The house is still standing (1981) and is occupied by the descendents of the original owner.
