Description: Sepia-toned albumen print photograph mounted on it. tan paperboard which, in turn, is glued to another piece of paperboard cut from an apparel box of an Oakland merchant, The Gray Shop. Parts of the original mounting corners are missing. Photographer unknown.

History of Object:
Street-side view of the Palace Brewery. A wagon containing barrels of beer, drawn by a 4-horse team, is stationed in the foreground. Advertising message printed on mounting (of which some segments are missing) reads: "Palace Brewery, Central Avenue, Bet. 2d & 3rd Avenues, Narrow Gauge R.R. Stations, Alameda Ca. Picnic and Pleasure Resort. XXX Old Porter and Lager Beer. Henry Schuler, Proprietor."
