No. 21.127.1 Subject Category: Washington School, Schools - Alameda Public Date or Period: 1950 Object: Photo Album Description: a loose-leaf photo album with black pages and cover of brown leather, with upper and lower edges tooled in a pattern like lizard or snake skin; bound by a tan string. On the front cover is written in black marker: Spring 1950. Half the pages have a class photo, and each individual is identified by a number and a paper legend glued underneath. Covers have some small nicks, front cover has a 1 inch section missing, and leather on inside fold of the cover has cracked open. Size: L 10 3/4 x W 16 inches. History of Object: Album of class photos of the full complement of students with their teacher at Washington School in the spring of 1950. Also includes two photos of staff in a staff room, eating from a table loaded with dishes and flowers, possibly a 'Thank the Teacher' day, and a floor plan diagram of the school.
