Description: Sepia tinted photo on mounting (light brown), signed "Hartsook", in what appears to be a frame constructed of cherrywood. At the top and bottom of the frame are loops for hanging, so when mounted the picture would not sway. The picture was most likely hung aboard a ship, as its original owner was a Captain for the Alaska Packers Association, Alameda, Ca.
Size: 10x7½ inches.
History of Object: Photo of Bernice, daughter of Capt. John A. & Mrs. Sohlin. Capt. Sohlin was a longtime shipmaster for the Alaska Packers Association, Alameda, Ca. The Sohlin family resided at 1714 Pacific Avenue.
