History of Object: The boring of artesian wells for the Alameda Water Works on what is now Thompson Ave. about 400 feet East from High Street. Owner R.R. Thompson is identified. Per printed advertising inscription on the mounting, the well work was done by Clark & Allingham, Temescal, Oakland.
