A composition of two sepia-colored photos cut and placed together on backing to get one image, showing groups of people surrounding an empty space, with white buildings on the left of the image and tents or stalls on the right. Handwritten legend below states: 'A.H.S. Circus Day May 29-1936'

History of Object: photos of the Circus Day celebration at Alameda High School. Arches can be seen at the far end of the open space - today these are still in front of the Patton Gym - and in the distance the side of the Masonic building. Places the event in the space now occupied by the 1950s building and parking lot.
Composition was part of a collection of uncataloged photos from the Rittler Estate.
