History of Object: Photo of Edward R. McDonell, in the uniform of the National Guard, Co., G., Alameda, circa 1898. Mr. McDonell was the nephew of Mr. & Mrs. P. A. Mc Donell, pioneers of Bay Farm Island. He was raised on their farm and later married their ward, Mary Anderson, in 1900.
