History of Object: Photograph taken April, 1905 of the exterior of 1823 San Jose Avenue, Alameda. It depicts a Victorian style residence after the exterior was altered by removing ornamental trim and covering siding with shingles. This was done by Herbert Clark to update the house he had purchased in 1904.
