History of Object:
Photo, interior, front parlor of 1479 High Street, Alameda, California, the home of Mr. & Mrs. Abel Thornton (now demolished). The Thorntons were parents of two children-Mary Frances, and Edward Abel Thornton. Mary Frances later married Fred Linderman, son of John C. Linderman, engineer for the Artesian Water Company.
