History of Object: Photographic study of the gate and fence (front) of the Abram Rich home, 1620 4th Street, Alameda. The house was erected circa 1868, on land purchased by Mr. Rich in 1866, from W. W. Chipman. The house is still standing (1981) and is occupied by the descendants of the original owner.
