Note:
This collection was given to the Society by Albert Smith, son of Grace Hall Smith, member of an old-time East End family, who settled on Briggs Avenue in 1885. Grace was born there in 1901, and died in Alameda in 1984. She was a longtime employee (operator) for the Alameda Telephone Co, having gone to work there in her late teens.
