History of Object: This picture was taken in Room 20 where Miss Elisabeth Mensing taught for twenty-eight years. For Open House Night in April, 1938, her four classes in arithmetic drew, according to scale, the ground floor plans of the buildings on Treasure Island, as were during the Golden Gate International Exposition. Similar illustrations covered the blackboard spaces on four sides of the room, making a very attractive, interesting and popular exhibit.
This exhibit was in the old Washington School.
