No. 21.133.1 Subject Category: Businesses of Alameda Date or Period: c. 1920 Object: Photograph Description: a sepia photo with 3/4" margin, of a street corner, with what appear to be unpaved streets, telegraph poles and railroad tracks making a corner, and on the street turn, a horse and cart, which advertises 'Fuller Brushes'. Size: L 2 3/4" x W 3 3/4" History of Object: A photo of an unidentified street corner in - presumably - Alameda, with a representative of the Fuller Brush Co. The Fuller Brush Company was founded in 1908, and by the mid-1920s, it had established national identity. A representative operated in Oakland by 1922. This image was found among paper notes and miscellaneous knick-knacks on curator G. Gunn's desk, and may after all not be of an Alameda street. Requires more research.
