Description: Cabinet-size albumen print photo, mounted on buff paper with the caption, "Dames and Hayes, 751 Market St., San Francisco" printed in the front and the verso.
History of Object: Photograph of Helena Palmer Ames Forsyth, mother of the late Robert and Helene Ames. Mrs. Forsyth came to Alameda from San Francisco in 1906 following the earthquake and fire accompanied by her mother and six year old son, Robert. She married Wm. Chas. Forsyth, a member of a pioneer Alameda family in 1922. She died in the Alameda Hospital in 1968.
