History of Object: View of a historical marker plaque located at the Naval Air Station, Alameda, commemorating the western terminus of the First Transcontinental Passenger train which arrived from New York City on Sept. 6, 1869. This plaque was dedicated on Aug. 22, 1952, and it was sponsored by the Naval Air Association in cooperation with the Alameda Historical Society.
