History of Object: Photographs of the reputably first airplane to fly off Bay Farm Island from a runway that is now presently the Alameda Golf Course. Pilot Lehi Torrey is seated on a wing of the plane pointing out characteristics of the aircraft to an unidentified young woman. A great deal of technical information about the plane is hand printed on the verso of image #a.
