History of Object: Retired Alaska Packers rigger John "Jack" Dickerhoff shown attending the festivities in connection with the renovation of the ex-Alaska Packers ship "Balclutha" (in which he was involved), located on the S.F. waterfront as part of the Maritime Museum. The two men shown on either side of Mr. Dickerhoff are unidentified. He was raised in Alameda, attending Haight School.
